The growth letters service audits and fixes the five checklist letters that decide most of a small business's inbound demand: G (Google Business Profile), M (measurement), R (reviews), S (search) and W (website). It suits owners whose foundations are in order but whose phone is quieter than it should be.
This is business and marketing consulting with hands-on work where it helps. Ali Sedighi, MBA, has built 150+ live HVAC websites, and this is the part of the alphabet where that experience counts most.
The five letters, and what "green" means
Each letter has a plain test you can check yourself.
- G, Google Business Profile: ☐ verified, ☐ correct categories and service area, ☐ hours current, ☐ photos from the last six months, ☐ owner listed as primary.
- M, measurement: ☐ analytics installed and owned by you, ☐ calls, texts and emails from the website counted, ☐ one monthly number you actually look at.
- R, reviews: ☐ a routine for asking every happy customer, ☐ replies to every review, ☐ no incentives offered for reviews.
- S, search: ☐ one page per main service, ☐ pages that answer real questions, ☐ your town or region named where it is true.
- W, website: ☐ loads quickly on a phone, ☐ phone number tappable on every page, ☐ a clear "what happens next" for a new customer.
Who it is for
Owners who can tick most of A to F but still struggle to get found. Typical signs:
- Customers say "I didn't know you did that."
- A competitor with fewer years in business shows up first on Google.
- You get calls, but cannot tell whether they came from the website, the profile or a referral.
- Your newest Google review is more than three months old.
What is included
An audit, a fix list and the fixes themselves, in that order.
- Baseline: we record where you stand on each letter, including inquiries per month and review count, so progress has a starting point.
- Fix list: ranked by effort and effect. Profile and review fixes are often days of work; search pages and website changes take longer.
- Fixes: we do the marketing work, or brief your web person in writing if you prefer to keep them.
- Routine: a short monthly checklist so G and R stay green after we step back.
Results from our HVAC work show what consistent effort on these letters can do. Roma Heating & Cooling saw 400% organic traffic growth in 12 months, and GasBoilers.ca holds a 5.0★ rating from 76+ Google reviews across 26+ BC communities.
Timeline
Expect visible changes in weeks and search changes over months. Profile and measurement fixes usually land in the first two to three weeks. Review routines take a month or two to show up as steady new reviews. Search work is slower: new pages commonly take several months to settle in results, which is why measurement goes in first.
How results are measured
We report the same few numbers every month, against the baseline.
| Measure | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Inquiries by channel | Website call, text and email clicks, plus your own call log |
| Google profile actions | Calls, website visits and direction requests reported by the profile |
| New reviews | Count and average rating, month by month |
| Search visibility | Pages receiving search visits and the queries they appear for |
Where the growth letters sit in the alphabet
They come after the foundation letters for a reason. Growth work on a domain you do not own (D), a profile someone else controls (G) or a site that cannot count inquiries (M) builds value you may not keep. Before we start, we check A, D and E quickly; if any is red, we fix ownership first, through our accounts recovery work, so the growth you pay for stays yours.
Mistakes to avoid
The commonest mistake is starting with the website redesign. A new site with no measurement and no reviews looks better and performs the same. Do M and R early.
Also avoid:
- Buying reviews or offering discounts for them. It breaks platform rules and the Competition Bureau's guidance on deceptive marketing practices applies to misleading endorsements.
- Copying a competitor's service pages. Write about what you actually do.
- Measuring only website visits. Count inquiries, not traffic.

Frequently asked questions
Why these five letters together?
Because each depends on the others. Reviews feed the Google profile, the profile sends people to the website, search depends on the website's pages, and measurement tells you which of them is working.
Do you run ads as part of this?
Ads are not one of the five letters, because they stop the moment you stop paying. We can advise on ads once the five letters are green, so the money lands on a site that converts.
Will you promise rankings or a number of leads?
No. Nobody can honestly promise rankings or leads. We set a baseline at the start and report the same measures every month, so you can judge the work on evidence.
Is this right for a non-HVAC business?
Yes. The method is the same for most local and service businesses. Our published numbers are results from our HVAC work, so we present them as proof of the method, not of your sector.
